What is the moral lesson in the story metamorphosis?

The story of "The Heron and the Hummingbird," has a moral of persistence pays off in the end. Even though someone may be very slow and methodical, eventually the goal will be accomplished. The story also gave information on why herons and hummingbirds consume the type of food they do.
