What is the difference between punch and cocktail?

Punch is made of mostly fruit drinks while cocktails are made of mixture of different drinks and fruit drinks too. Cocktail has more alcohol than punch. Punch and cocktail are not served the same way. Punch doesn't usually involve mixture of syrups.
