Where are sow bugs in winter?

They dig 24 in into soil and will not be found until around March. Usaully they do not survive the winter but they do breed rapidly. that is why there seen often. Also they live for 2 years. There babies are vulnerable when young and its not a good idea to keep them in large groups. 25 or mor can be found as a colony.
