What does ages 14U and 15U mean?

It does not exist in French as far as I know.

14U is an American classification in some sports for 13-14 years old, 16U for 15-16 years old, and there's no 15U.

If these terms do exist in French, it must be from some very specific entity, it's definitely not something common in France. Some more context would help.
