It has been my experience that the reason most vehicle antennas will not raise and lower properly are one of these reasons:
* A slight bend has occurred in the antenna itself. * The antenna motor needs to be replaced with a new functioning one. * The antenna requires a lubricant such as WD-40 to be coated on the inside and outside if the motor and antenna. * It needs a helpful hand to pull it up a few times before it starts working again. Often times, it's been out of service because it doesn't get used often enough. Turn on the radio more often you soothe your spirit and help your car at the same time! * The antenna has been broken off without the owner realizing it is no longer there, just a stub. This can happen in automatic car wash shops, trees, kids on bikes near your car and so on. Often, you don't notice until you look very closely. * There is a physical power switch/button on your dash that activates the antenna telling it to go up or down. It's not automatic. 1960's Cadillac's for example have this button in the center of the dash. I certainly hope this helps you if this is happening. No one wants to be without a radio or talk show in their car. Where is the fun in that?
