What do you call a book before it is published?

The stage between manuscript and book is what is known as a "galley proof" or "uncorrected proof". These books are advance copies, provided to media outlets for review purposes, and to libraries and bookstores so that librarians and booksellers may read books prior to publication, in order to better assist the public in their book choices.
