What do you do with an baby squirrel when their is no wildlife refuge to call?

well i live in portage and a few years ago my mom found a baby squirrel in our yard and we were going to nurse it back to health and there was a girl who takes in squirrels and helps them but it was almost dead so they had us give it to them and they tryed to help it but it died so look around
