I don't know if any company actually allows smoking in their cars, but it's not unusual for people to just do it anyway and then pay the fine for it. If I remember correctly, my company charges $100 for smoking in a car. If you clean up after yourself and don't cause any burn damage (and don't use the cupholders or door pockets as an ashtray, because the smell never comes out), you might get away with it. Wiping down the interior of the car (including the front and back window) removes a lot of the smell.
The fine is mainly to cover our cost of cleaning the smell out and depreciation that comes from damage caused by burns or permanent odor.
