Acetylpromazine maleate causes

Acetylpromazine maleate (commonly called "ace") causes muscle relaxation and mild to moderate sedation. However, in male horses occasionally there is an idiopathic side effect of permanent periphimosis, in which the horse is no longer able to retract his penis inside the prepuce. For this reason, Ace is generally not recommended for use in breeding stallions.
