Why does your dog eat like he is starving to death all the time?

Some dogs naturally eat quickly and eat large volumes - this is either a learned behavior (sometimes dogs do this when they had uncertain feeding schedules as puppies) or is simply a habit of a dog that wants to spend more time playing or interacting with its humans.

This can predispose a dog to gastric bloat and stomach twists, so it's not entirely benign.
