How do big spiders manage to get into my house when they cannot possibly squeeze through a crevice?

Perhaps they came in when they were smaller and grew up in some forgotten corner unnoticed. Also, if the head or abdomen (whichever is bigger) can fit through somewhere, the whole spider can. Open Windows might also have lured them - remember that flying insects are lured in this way too, and Spiders are sure to follow those!
