Experiments with fat removal from the body date back to the 1920s, but no reliable way of performing such a procedure without serious risk to the patient was found until 1982, when modern Liposuction was invented by a French surgeon, Dr Yves-Gerard Illouz. Dr. Jeffrey A. Klein invented liposuction in 1985
