Sun Yat-sen, the founding father of modern China, lived in several places throughout his life. He was born in Guangdong province in 1866 and spent significant time in Honolulu, Hawaii, where he studied and worked. Sun also lived in various cities in China, including Guangzhou and Shanghai, as he engaged in revolutionary activities against the Qing dynasty. His extensive travels reflected his efforts to promote his vision for a modern Chinese republic.
