What is a spongiform nodule?

A spongiform nodule is a type of abnormal tissue structure characterized by a sponge-like appearance, often associated with certain diseases. It is commonly observed in the context of prion diseases, where abnormal protein folding leads to the degeneration of neural tissue and the formation of these nodules.
