Where is the fuel filter located on a 2000 Hyundai Accent. How do I replace it?

The fuel filter is located under the rear seat, under which you will find an inspection port. The seat is removed by pushing in the two plastic tabs in the front of the seat (the tabs would be under your knees if you were sitting in the seat). The inspection port is sealed with a black goo, becareful as it is messy. the Filter is held inplace with a clip and the inlet and outledt have button that when depressed allows you to repove the line. keep a toewl handy so that you don't spill in your car.

After reviewing this q&a I want to add to previous poster that to access the fuel filter or pump there is a little more you should know: First, the tabs need to be PUSHED back toward the seat as you lift, one side then the other. Then you need a 12mm socket and wrench to remove two bolts holding the back of the seat down. It is tight quarters and easier than with a wrench, but the bolts are between the seat back and seat bottom; one on left and right side.
