The dentist may have provided gauze for you to apply to the wound. If you have followed their instructions, and the bleeding is more than oozing, you should contact them ( they may have an after hours number) or a local hospital. A wound will bleed for about a half-day, but excessive bleeding should be treated. A clot needs to form at the wound site, and anything that prevents this should be avoided, including frequently disturbing the site, blowing your nose a lot and coughing.
