When did parliament eclipse the monarchy?

There is no short answer to this question which would be anywhere near to accurate. The transfer of power from the monarch to parliament was not an event but a process. A long, at times slow, process. A process which sometimes went into reverse for a while; often frustrating and occasionally blood-soaked. You would like an answer ?
