What can a judge not do in court?

A judge cannot engage in biased behavior or demonstrate favoritism towards any party in a case, as this would compromise the fairness of the proceedings. Additionally, a judge cannot make decisions based on personal beliefs or outside influence; their rulings must be based solely on the law and the evidence presented. Judges also cannot participate in ex parte communications, which are discussions about the case with one party without the other party present.
