When a girl says she like you a little what does that mean?

I don't wanna be that mean about this....but to me it means something about u makes him not like u a lot if u know what i mean..........obviously its just what it says he only likes u a little bit....now i dont know what the situation is so i cant tell why he doesn't liek u a lot but why not just ask him??
