What technique does katniss use to refocus her mind mockingjay?

Katniss kills President Coin when she is supposed to kill President Snow so that there will be no dictator of Panem, as President Coin probably would've deemed herself President of Panem after Snow's death. She then proceeds to kill Snow a little while later.
