What are some common symptoms of hookworms in dogs?

In dogs, a hookworm infection can often show no symptoms. When it does, the dog may have tarry or bloody diarrhea, anemia, weight loss, emaciation, and weakness progressing as the infection remains. Hookworm infections can be treated by dewormer medicines, and prevented by heartworm preventives.
