In a game of Texas Hold'em, how is the pot split among players in the event of a tie or split pot?

In Texas Hold'em, when there is a tie or split pot, the pot is divided equally among the players who have the best hand. If there is an odd chip left over, it is given to the player closest to the left of the dealer.
