How long does it take to build a ferris wheel?

It takes up to a year to design and construct a full-scale wheel. You can build a model (to hold toys or hamsters) in a few hours once you have the tools and materials.

There are also wooden "puzzle" models made en masse in China and available from a number of online sources.
