Most definitly,

Artists can aquire licenses to tattoo in their home or in the home of their clients. Many popular artists do this because they are required to travel around for special assignments. My friend's first tattoo was done in her living room.

AnswerCheck with your local Health and Human Services Dept. for your states current licensing regulations. Also, check your local zoning laws, some states don't allow commercial businesses in residential zoned areas.

I guess most of these question are from people in the States. I'm not conversant with your laws over there but I do know it varies from state to state.

Be thankful you are in the States because across the pond here in the UK it's much different. You have to have a designated room in your home and it has to be inspected by the local health authority. However if you live in rented accommodation you can not run a tattoo business from home. Also if you own your home you have to apply to the local council for a licence, but firstly you must prove you have been on an accredited hygiene course for tattooing. Then if you've done that you have to get permission to run a business from home , and if just one of your neighbours object, then it's a none starter. So think seriously guys n girls. Best bet is to either join an existing studio or open one yourself. I'd opt for the former it's a hell of a lot less hastle. Have fun people and mostly be safe.
