Thea is derived from a Greek Word and means Goddess. We do not have any Goddesses in Catholicism. There was a religious order called the Theatines but that is something else. Stretching things, this term could be extended to the Blessed Virgin Mary, but this is seldom done. saints, yes, Goddesses, no, Put away your copy of Wonder Woman. I don't like the idea that girls can be baptized with such handles as Aurora or Dawn ( which means the same thing),. Diana- another Greco-Roman goddess and so on. Are there not enough good Saintly names?
