How do you put 400ex in reverse?

Put it in first gear, then twist the reverse knob and click it down another geer while you are still holding the knob. Let go of the knob and it should go in reverse. Some models have a little lever instead of this. If the TRX is older than 2005, then it has no reverse gear.
