Where does steel magnolias take place?

The original 1989 film was filmed in Natchitoches, Louisiana. That is a known fact because I have lived here my whole life and I know where most of the buildings and scenes are located. But for the 2012 remake I am not sure where that was filmed but I know it is not Natchitoches.
