The summary on the concubine by Elechi amadi?

OMG!! I read this book many years ago. It was about a beautiful young widow who had a spirit husband (but did not know it). This spirit husband was a very powerful and jealous being. It killed her first husband whom she loved dearly. I believe they had a son.

Anyway, suitors soon wanted her hand in marriage (she was very beautiful) but one thing or the other would happen to the man. Her latest fiance decided to consult the oracles to find out if the union should go ahead (or some such reason) but the juju priest they visited WARNED them severely against getting married. He said they could live together but must NOT get married. The man left in annoyance vowing to marry his bride. They visited a lesser juju priest in another nearby village. He told them that the marriage would go ahead but they needed to appease the spirit husband by rowing out to the middle of the river in the middle of the night and offering him some sacrifice. He gave them a list of what was needed. They were happy. Anyway, that day, an incident happened involving a poisonous arrow. Her son accidentally shot the man in the eye whilst he was targetting lizards. The man died at midnight!!
