What state is the pumpkin capital of the world?

According to the US Census, it's Illinois, Ohio, California and New York (in that order). Illinois produced over 500 million pounds of pumpkins in 2007.

Illinois is far and away the largest producer of pumpkins in the United States. It also is one of the largest corn and ethanol producers.
