Jasmine is a genus of shrubs and vines in the olive family, with about 200 species that are native to tropical and warm temperate regions. Because of this diversity, Jasmine can be an evergreen or a deciduous plant that can grow in an erect, spreading, or climbing manner. While their center of diversity is in South Asia and Southeast Asia, only one species is actually native to Europe.
