General the Most Honourable The Marquess Cornwallis was the second Governor of the Presidency of Fort William, of Bengal. The position would later become the two offices of the Governor-General of India, and the Governor-General of Pakistan. (It should be noted that Sir John Macpherson, 1st Baronet, was acting Governor before The Marquess Cornwallis.)
