What happened after Eragon counter spelled elva?

Elva could realise that she could finally ignore peoples pain, but she could not block it out entirely she said that no-one could boss her around and she could go and do it herself. Eragon tried to cast another spell to stop Elva for doing what she was doing and what he feared in the future but Elva grabbed his mouth therefore stopping him for casting a spell....
