What is a mid-renal cyst?

A mid-renal cyst is a fluid-filled sac that forms in the mid-section of the kidney. These cysts are typically benign and often discovered incidentally during imaging studies, such as ultrasounds or CT scans, performed for other reasons. While most mid-renal cysts do not cause symptoms or require treatment, monitoring may be recommended to ensure they do not change over time.
