Weeping willow trees commonly grow on banks of a water source and prefer damper soils but can also grow in regular draining soils.
Hybrid willows are not weeping willow trees and can grow in soils that vary from clay to sandy loam. They will often experience root rot in wet soil areas.
Both varieties are adaptable to most soil pH levels (except for pH extremes of high or low).
