Not really, they don't have a soft ride compared to E38 740i or other luxury brands. Only the X5 has as mainly problems, came into the dealership as much as the 7series. The 7series is the flagship, meaning it always had the newest/most advanced technology(meaning- untested/unrefined). They don't hold their value at all, have seen $90,000(new) models sell for $30,000 2 years later with only 30,000miles. I would highly recommend, leasing only!! so the repairs are covered under warranty. To by own, your average repair cost per month will equal lease payments( if you bought out right). Problem areas- window regulators, thrust arm bushings, ars swaybars, lights, p/s hoses, belt tensioners, coil packs, oil leaks, trans. fluid leaks, coolant leaks, dead batteries(due to too many computers on board), navigation is a waste(constant programming, dvd's needed).
