Can tire rotation be performed on Mercedes-Benz 2000 E320 4Matic My auto mechanic told me they cannot be rotated per MB's design?

The 2000 MB 4Matic has a 430 motor meaning its a E430. These may be directional tires and those can be rotated but not in the old school sense, but side specific, front to back. The only tires that cannot be rotated are the ones that are wider in the rear as found on some AMG models. Find a more knowledgeable MB mechanic.
