What is the meaning of name MUKUND?

Mukund means "a very precious jewel". It is one of the Nine Nidhis. An interpretation of Mukund is quicksilver.

Mukund also means bestower of freedom.

When used in conjunction with Madhav, i.e. Mukund Madhav, it becomes a name of Lord Krishna or Lord Vishnu, from Hindu mythology.
