What is the lifespan of a horny toad?

It's hard to determine the life of horny toads in the wild. On a few documented cases, they seems to reach five years most of the time, with one case being eight years, which is regarded to be a long life. In captivity, even with owners who have experience with lizards, horny toads only typically live for about five years.
