AnswerProbably not the way you mean. I imagine it would not be common but you probably could convince an employer to give you insurance instead of a salary or wages.
Some of my union workers have been laid off for quite a while and essentially only work enough hours to pay their union dues. They are guaranteed insurance so they have that but they don't work enough hours to actually get any money on their paychecks.
