Do animals have an afterlife

NO, in Roman Catholicism animals do not have spiritual bodies or Souls ( despite the fact Animal and Anima- Latin for soul, have the same root) Animals do not well, reach the afterlife. Thus pet cemeteries indirectly violate Canon law. I am aware of a sad tale of a lady ( who died in an automobile accident) who was buried with her poodle. The poodle was (put down) by a veterinarian and was placed in the normally closed lower portion of the lady"s casket. I do not know if the poodle was visible during her wake. Both the Lady and her Poodle were of French extraction.
