Well, let's start with the basic structure:

Roof- protects occupants from the weather and animals.

Walls-protects occupants from the weather and animals.

Windows: allow air, and light to enter house and allows occupants to view outside.

Doors: allows people to enter and exit.

ROOMS:

Bath and toilet: for bathing and eliminating human waste. Sometimes for dressing.

Dressing Room: for dressing, styling hair etc.

Bedroom: contains a bed and furniture to suit the occupant

Kitchen: for culinary work and sometimes storing food.

Pantry: for storing food

Washroom or laundry: for washing fabrics, clothing etc

Living room: for relaxing

Den: for entertainment and relaxing

Parlor: for entertaining and playing games

Wine cellar: keeping wines at a perfect temperature.

Garage: for storing vehicles. Sometimes for storing tools and working on items that need repair etc

Game room: playing games

Larger houses may have more room with other functions according to the needs of the occupants.
