Why does screamo suck?

Screamo, in my opinion, 'sucks' because of the fact that it's centered around screaming. I thought that music was supposed to have rhythm and rhyme and a meaning. Screamo, to me, is something that's more about money and fame then it is about being real to music. I miss the good 'ol bands. Screamo is only popular because ''it's cool to like screamo''. Most kids listen to it because their friends do and so on, and so forth...

NOTE: I'm 16. Don't accuse me of being some old hag with nothing better to do. I do like a lot of today's bands, I just can't stand 'Hardcore' and 'Screamo'.

Screamo does not suck. It is a genre of music that not everyone likes. And everyone today listens to rap, or Lady Gaga, or Justin Bieber because that's cool. A lot of people if you showed them a Screamo song would say "No, I don't like it" or "This sucks. Can't you listen to good music?" I love screamo, but that doesn't mean I go make fun of or say I hate things that I do hate. I keep it to myself unless someone asks me "Hey do you hate so and so kind of music?" Screamo songs have a lot of meaning. And screamo is an acquired taste.

And I also am not some old hag with nothing better to do.

Neither am I an old hag but I would just like to touch on what the person above said. If I put on here why does lady gaga suck or why is pixie lott ugly you would more than likely defend saying something like just because you don't like them. Why not apply this "theory" into this question. I like Screamo Music because I like it not because my friends like it, I'm 18 and most people in the same age range can make their own decisions on what to like. If you at the top are 16 I'm sure their is things you like which other people may not agree on. So why not give it up and complain about something that actually matters ..? Something like the environment or whatever. Don't hate on anything simply because you don't like it !!

okay so i am 16 years old and love screamo. not because "my friends like it" (which most dont) and not because "its popular" (which its not people get teased because of it) i listen to it because its a way of expression and it has rhythm and it rhymes and most defiantly has meanings. i do not hate on other genres, bands or artists. if you listen to Justin Bieber or lady gaga i couldnt care less, but i hate it when people hate on screamo just because they cant understand the Words.
