How did the show Hannah Montana get its name?

When Miley was little she always smiled and her family called her smiley. Than it began Miley. She really wanted her name to be Miley. Than she legally changed her name from Destiney Hope Cyrus to Miley Ray Cyrus.

The name Hannah Montana came up with the TV show. Originally, it was called "My Secret Life" whilst they were doing auditions. Names were brought up with a girls name then a state, like Missy Missippi to name one. The character was going to be "Chloe Stewart" but when Miley auditioned, they loved her name. Miley was told to choose out of the best names for the show, and she chose Hannah Monatana.
