Many people think, by mistake, that the majority of Islam followers live in the Middle East or are Arabs. In reality 62% of all Muslims worldwide live in the Asia-Pacific region, which includes 61 countries and territories, where six Asian countries are having the largest Muslim populations; namely:
These only six countries are home to more than half (53%) of the global Muslim population and about 85% of Asia's Muslim population.
Whereas, the Middle East together with North Africa region, which includes 20 countries and territories, is home to only about 20% of the world's Muslim population and having around 315 million Muslims. Of these, 315 million Muslims, around 79 million Muslims live in Egypt, meaning that about one-in-four (25%) Muslims in the region live in Egypt.
Also, by mistake some think that the Majority Muslims are surrounding Israel. This is again wrong. Out of around 1600 million Muslims world wide, the Muslim countries surrounding Israel totals around 105 million Muslims. These countries are: Egypt (~79 million Muslims), Jordan (~ 6 million Muslims), Syria (~ 20 million Muslims) and Lebanon (2.5 million Muslims). Even the Muslim Palestinians are ~ 4 million Muslims.
Muslims in the US are less than 2.5 millions (~0.8% of US total population).
