Who is P Rossi artist?

PROPERZIA ROSSI Italy c1490-1530 She studied drawing in Bologna, her home town for Marcantonio Raimondi, nowadays mainly known for engravings after Raphael. Properzia was first noted for mini-sculptures on peach, apricot and cherry stones! She is said to have made a relief picture of Calvary on such a stone!!

The biographer Vasari called them miraculous.

Later she switched to larger formats, e.g. portrait busts in marble, which made her reputation as a serious artist. After this she got several commissions for church art. Others: Pasquale R. Italy 1641-1725
