The tasks of an eye doctor or an Optometrist include the following:
- Conducting eye examinations for patients of all ages.
- Detect signs, injuries, diseases, abnormalities, or defects related to vision.
- Using required equipments for optometry use.
- Prescribing spectacles or contact lenses
- Making sure the prescribed spectacles or contact lens is correct
- Conducting consultations regarding vision-related advices
- Writing optometrist certified treatment referral or drug prescription.
- Must work with other optometrist who specialize in another ophthalmology field to assure that the patient gets proper eye care
- Taking continuing education and training (CET)
