There are two important things to consider from a customer service experience in the Salon / Spa industry. The customers sense of beauty and self worth, and the sanctuary from every day life. Spa and Salon services can range anywhere from 10-15 bucks for an eyebrow wax to hundreds of dollars for extensions, microderm abrasion, all over color, etc: and it can be extrmely distressing to not get the end result they are looking for. When the service does not go as intended, not only does it hurt the customers sense of self worth and beauty which is centered around how they imagined they would look after the service compared to how they would look before. When regarding services that do not affect aestetics in a strong way(ie. a facial, pedicure, massage, etc), your guests are coming in for a sanctuary away from the stress and struggles of their everyday life. If a client is not fully aware of what they are receiving and get exactly that, they may find themselves saying "When will this be over?" as opposed to "I hope this never ends".
