I am not an expert but I do know a fair amount about the diets for kids. Kids have a high metabolism causing them to be able to eat fattier foods such as candy and desserts. But this is no reason for you to let your kids bring on sweets. You hear it all the time, Kids need vitamins and nutrients to strengthen your bone. Honestly, the food your children eat determines how healthy they can potentially be. So let your kid(s) enjoy the sweets and treats they love but remember EVERYTHING IN MODERATION. If your child is overweight, try healthier more balanced meals with smaller portions. You don't have to absolutely cut your kids off. A healthy snack after school is also a good idea if you child is involved in sports or eats an early lunch. The best thing to do is to talk to your doctor or physician on your particular child's diet and how they will handle different foods.
