What does the name sunflower mean?

The petals of the Sunflower are bright yellow and are arranged in a somewhat circle form, making it similar to the sun. Because of this, and also because of the fact that it needs the Sun to grow, it got the name "Suns Flower", which was later shortened to "Sunflower".
