Do locust like water and why?

Locusts do not particularly like water; in fact, excessive moisture can be detrimental to them. They thrive in dry, arid environments where they can find food and suitable breeding conditions. Water can facilitate the growth of other organisms, such as fungi, which can be harmful to locust populations. Therefore, while they need some moisture for survival, they prefer dry habitats.
